Greek Lessons for Refugees
The Greek Forum of Migrants organizes Greek language courses for refugees aged 15-26 under the Alef School program (DURATION: June 2016 - April 2018).
The Greek Forum of Migrants in cooperation with Melissa and the Greek Refugee Forum participates in the Alef program with the support of Mercy Corps and the City of Athens.
Within the framework of the program, the Greek Forum of Migrants has undertaken and organize Greek language courses, English courses, IT courses, visits to museums and cultural centers, excursions as well as informative visits to agencies and organizations that provide services to refugees and migrants.
The program includes learning Greek language, cultural and social activities. The classes last for 4 weeks, and the school is open daily from Monday to Friday 10 am. -12.30 p.m. For refugees aged 15-26. Currently we have three leves, introductory-beginners and advanced. Registrations occur around the end of each month.
Along with the Greek school there is also an info desk that runs every day from 10am to 3pm. It provides information to our students, refugees, migrants, but also to NGO staff and organizations dealing with refugee and migrant issues.
