Migration: A problem of management or lack of an integration plan?

Highlights of the debate "Migration: A problem of management or lack of an integration plan?" held on December 18th, 2019.

As part of Integra Fest 2019, the celebration of the International Migrants Day, a discussion was held at the Athens Cultural Center on December 18th, 2019, entitled:

Migration: A problem of management or lack of an integration plan?
The discussion began with the announcement - positioning of the Greek Forum of Migrants (read full text here) by representatives Ira Londo - board member, and Adla Shashati - director of the Greek Forum of Migrants.

The discussion was moderated by Dimitris Christopoulos, Professor at Panteion University and Honorary President of the International Federation for Human Rights.

Positionings:
With video footage, Andreas Takis, Assistant Professor at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, former Ombudsman for Human Rights and former Secretary General of Population and Social Cohesion.

Following were the positions of: Vassilis Papadopoulos, Lawyer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Greek Refugee Council, Former Secretary General of Migration Policy, and Miltiadis Klapas, Chemist, Secretary General of the Municipality of Saronikos, Former Secretary General of Migration.

Finally, the current government`s adviser, Angelos Athanasopoulos, took the stand on behalf government`s General Secretariat of Immigration, Reception and Asylum Policy.
In conclusion, the speakers were asked questions about the current problems of a large proportion of migrants in Greece in 2019.
