A first draft of results from the Mapping of Migrant Communities in Greece, that is being held by the Greek Forum of Migrants, was presented for the first time in the discussion "Another Path to Integration", on the International Migrants Day 2018.

The 4day celebration Integra Fest 2018 ended on the International Migrants Day - Tuesday 18th of December, with the debate - discussion "Another Path to Integration".

This year, we celebrate! On the occasion of the International Migrants Day 2018, the Greek Forum of Migrants - GFM organizes "Integra Fest 2018 - Another Path to Integration". It is a four-day festival of events and actions, aiming to highlight the work of migrant communities and organizations in Greece, as well as the practices they follow for their integration into the Greek society.

How many more lives must be lost? The Greek Forum of Migrants sends a message of memory on the World Refugee Day, 20 June 2018.

At the initiative of the Secretary of Social Networks & Special Population Groups of New Democracy party, Mr. Giorgos Stamatis and Ms Katerina Markou, Member of Parliament B Thessallonikis, a first meeting was held with the Greek Forum of Migrants.

A discussion with the greek Ministry for Migration Policy. 

At the beginning of the year, as the Greek Forum of Migrants, we met with the Deputy Minister of the Greek Ministry of Migration Policy, Mr. G. Balafas on his own initiative. As the Minister himself stated, the purpose of the meeting was to initialize "a continuous and systematic cooperation". 

"Today we start a continuous relationship - a systematic cooperation ..." said the Deputy Minister of Migration Policy Mr. Yannis Balafas, in the first meeting we had at his office, on his own initiative, on Friday, 19 January 2018.

Integration Migrants Day 2017

In the context of the International Migrants Day 2017, the Greek Forum of Migrants organized on Sunday 17 December, between 11 am and 2 pm in the Eleonas Refugge Camp, an event titled "The Boat of Integration" for the children of Migrants, Refugees and Greek citizens.

INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS DAY 2017

A boat symbolizes a lot. From a journey to the unknown to the hope for new roads and safe horizons. We dedicate today`s International Migrants Day to all migrants and refugees who have been struggling for so many years to sail with the "boat of integration" towards their future.

The Greek Forum of Migrants participated to the 5th International Conference of Migration studies "The Migration Conference 2017" that took place in Athens, from August 23rd to 26th, in Harokopio University.

Abbas from Iraq, Saiyan from Syria and Zoi from Greece, reveal through their stories the exclusion and the lack of integration that migrants and refugees face everyday in Greece of 2017.

On World Refugee Day (June 20th 2017), The Greek Forum of Migrants will commemorate the people who lost their lives trying to escape from war and hardship. On Tuesday June 20th, from 10 am, the students of Greek Forum`s `Alef School` as well as refugee children hosted at Welcommon, will meet at 13 Elpidos Street, outside the venue of Victoria Square Project.

On the occasion of International Day of Migrants on 18th December, the Greek Forum of Migrants organizes an event each year to promote the work of migrant communities, to inform society about the problems faced by immigrants in Greece, and to give the floor to migrant communities to discuss with stakeholders and those responsible for matters that concern them.

Migration is a worldwide phenomenon and for the past six years, the international community has recognized the rights of migrants worldwide and has celebrated their achievements on 18th of December, International Migrant’s Day.
