Upholding human dignity
On the occassion of recent main news in the election period, in Greece:
Upholding human dignity.
The "normality" we refer to these days, should not let us get used to the monster. Let`s not make hate speech, divisive speech and racism towards diversity (people with disabilities, Roma, migrants, refugees, seropositive, elderly, psychoactive users, mental patients, religious groups, etc.) become normal.
You have elections on Sunday the 5th of July, and we, migrant men and women, apart from the racism we experience everyday on the road, in the public transport, the predominant discourse of social media and the media, we still have no basic rights, such as the right to vote. We have neither equal rights nor equal opportunities in general, as citizens who live in the same democratic country, in Greece.
Whoever is entitled to vote, should defend human dignity. We all have, of course, individual and collective responsibility for the way we articulate our speech, as well as for everything we do. Vote according to your conscience and will, in order to defend human dignity.
